  12.      V-MailServer is supplied with an installation/setup program, called
  13.      VINSTALL.EXE.  VINSTALL will ask you to fill in information that will be
  14.      used in creating the initial configuration files.

  17.      Below is a sample of the VINSTALL screen looks like:

  40.      The directory to install V-MailServer to is completely up to you. A good
  41.      place for it is under the user directory tree somewhere.
  42.  
  43.      The node name is whatever you call your site.
  44.  
  45.      The mail server ID is the name the name you want to access V-MailServer
  46.      as - eg. mail-server, file-request, or ftpmail.
  47.  
  48.      The mail sender ID is the name to place in the Sender: field on outgoing
  49.      mail.  This should be different that the mail server ID, to prevent
  50.      bounce loops.

  52.      The temporary directory can be a RAM drive, or any other directory you
  53.      wish. V-MailServer uses a few temporary files when processing requests.
  54.      They are created in the temporary directory named here.
  55.  
  56.      The directory for mail executables is where you keep the programs that
  57.      do the actual mail processing for whatever UUCP implementation you use.
  58.      An example for a Waffle site is 'C:\WAFFLE\BIN'.

  60.      The three public file areas are used to locate the top-level directory
  61.      of the file-request areas. Three are allowed in case you have files on
  62.      more than one drive. A directory tree is generated based on what is
  63.

  70.      given here, and used to create the SearchTree and ValidPaths files. See
  71.      VMAIL.DOC for more information.

  73.      The source directory for V-MailServer files is wherever you have
  74.      unarchived the V-MailServer distribution file into.

  77.      VINSTALL will create a list of aliases that should be added to the
  78.      ALIASES file. This file is called ALIASES.ADD.  A batch file is also
  79.      created to set the VMS environment variable needed by V-MailServer. It's
  80.      called VSET.BAT.

  83.      The VMS.CFG file contains a line - INDEXFILE.  You should ensure
  84.      that the file exists as specified, or change the configuration to
  85.      point to another file.  VMAIL will abort if it cannot find the
  86.      INDEXFILE file.
